What children practise
The medium level uses working memory and forward planning more than simple tracing. Children compare alternatives, correct decisions, and learn to divide a longer puzzle into small, manageable sections.
Maze
The medium dinosaur maze contains more junctions and longer dead ends than the easy version. Children help the dinosaur mother plan a route to her nest and check their decisions along the way.
Ready to play
Some activities also include a short guide with background information for grown-ups.
At a glance
Printer, paper, a pencil, and coloring pencils
Ideas for this printable
Find the dinosaur mother and the nest together so the direction of the task is clear.
At a larger junction, check which route remains open and whether a dead end is already visible.
Draw the successful path and then mark dead ends with a second color.

A dinosaur fact to share
Fossil eggs and nests are known from several dinosaur groups, and their shapes and sizes varied. A huge adult dinosaur did not automatically lay a huge egg because the young animal still needed to break through the shell.
Good to know
A graphite pencil is easy to correct. A colored pencil makes the successful route clearer and works well for a second attempt.
Use it when the easy version is solved quickly and the child can examine several junctions without immediately losing track.
